Multiple
herds
Open
different data sets for different herds, even if they are from different
breeds. Each herd’s data are stored and managed separately. Data can be
transferred between herds.
Paperless
Almost
all paperwork is eliminated, except where you collect data in the field, and
even here you can use our preprinted forms. Everything about an animal is
stored in one place. No more searching for data in books or cards.
Time saving
Usually
it takes about 800 characters of writing to keep manual records up to date for
each new calf. With StudMaster it is reduced to pressing 80 keys on the
keyboard. Use the saved time for selecting animals, rather than updating and
keeping records.
Easy to use
From the onset designed to be farmer friendly. Things in the program
happens in the same order as it happens on the farm. Eldest client was 79
years of age when he acquired the program.
Fault elimination
While
using StudMaster you will be warned of various data faults that might occur,
rather than be reminded about them later by registering bodies, when they
return some reports for correction. For example the program will prevent you
from mating a bull and letting a cow calve within 100 days. Computer numbers
are automatically located and printed, eliminating writing errors.

Comprehensive administration
StudMaster
will handle all your on farm cattle administration. From matings, births,
performance testing, purchases, sales and regular weighing. StudMaster prints
all official reports.
Expected breeding values
StudMaster
accommodates expected breeding values and can import the data electronically
from the ARC. Inbreeding percentages are calculated for current animals and
future progeny. It is thus no longer necessary to compare extended pedigrees.
Extended selection program
By
means of our extended selection methods you can enforce your own breeding
policy, since every breeder’s breeding policy differs. You create your own
reports and selection criteria, and the program select your animals according
to that.
Performance testing
Non
official pre-wean, wean, year, 18 month and phase d performance figures are
calculated, and at this stage gives the same results as the official
calculation.

Any
personal 80386 or bigger computer with Dos 3.3 or later operating system and
10Mb free hard disk space. Epson and Hewlett Packard compatible printers capable
of dos printing.
The
current program is totally functional on Windows 3.1, 95, 98, NT and Windows
2000 computers.
Since
the current version of the program is still dos based, any computer fit to run
any Windows version is suitable. Note that the printer must be able to print
dos. The following printers are known not to be able to print dos:
